My Lucky Jeans

I have always said jeans were a splurge worthy item here at FF but in these economic times spending $200 on jeans just doesn’t feel right in my pocket.

Over the winter I had decided to test a pair of  Lucky Brand Jeans because they weren’t over the top expensive and because the fit was nice. Since then i have worn those jeans literally every week, they go from casual to dressy instantly and since spring is here I needed to invest in a lighter pair since the original were a very dark wash.

I went to the Lucky Brand store this weekend and am so excited to share my new pair of jeans with you.

First lets talk about the price, so I paid about $90 after receiving 10% off for giving my email address, the going price is $99. From a chic who usually splurges on jeans that’s a  huge deal!

The jeans feel great and the wash is perfect, let me also add that every jean by Lucky is handmade so every jean is distinctive from the other.

The fit that I bought are called the Zoe Skinny (they aren’t super skinny jeans more like straight leg)

Carrera Sunglasses

I am big on sunglasses, and as much as I am big on bargain shopping, sunglasses are always an exception. A good pair of sunglasses are a must. I have gotten a lot better at keeping cost down as you must know, my first pair of  designer sunglasses were a pair of Christian Dior’s that cost me about $400! After getting those stolen, I think twice about spending the money…Ouch!

I toned it down to about $100 a pair, after all, sunglasses are easily lost or in my case stolen! I was shopping with one of my favorite boys, whose a total sunglasses fanatic, and we made a  stop at Solstice, since he  was ranting about these Carrera Sunglasses he had to have. I learned this, the price tag is  reasonable averaging about $120 a pair and they are really a cool pair of sunglasses!

Not only were they a hit in 2009 with celebrities like Lady Gaga really giving the sunglasses the spot light, their 2010 collection are just as amazing!

More Celebrities in Carrera’s:

Alicia Keys

Britney Spears

Brad Pitt

Kanye West (Mr. West is a huge fan, he’s been spotted in so many different pairs)

The collection is 80′s inspired for those of us into vintage style, I know I will be jumping on the Carrera craze bandwagon, they are an absolute must!

Get your pair at your local Sunglasses Boutique or check them out at Solstice.com

Leather Minus the Leather

So I have been debating buying a fake leather jacket vs. a real leather jacket for about a week now, and  have come to terms with the fact that pleather is not FF.

Although, it may seem like the only alternative for those of us who can not afford a real leather jacket, the difference in feel and look is obvious.

I went to Express, and tried on their “minus the leather” jacket and I’m not going to lie, it fit really cute, I was almost convinced that it was my only alternative to buying a real leather jacket… The cost of the jacket was $118 plus a 25% off all outerwear sale coupon, the jacket would have cost me only $88! Check it out below:

I then went to Macy’s, and  tried on a $400 Michael Kors leather jacket and the difference was immediately noticed. The material is so much softer and the look was chic, it wasn’t shiny and didn’t feel like plastic. It was heavier so it would be good for cold months, but of course, the major difference was the price tag.

So, I walked out of the mall, pleather-less & leather-less. I went onto Overstock.com to find that  they carry fashionable and pocket friendly REAL leather jackets. I found this Michael Kors one for $170:

So here’s the deal, with leather jackets, either save up and get a real one or try and find yourself a good deal online. Leather minus the leather doesn’t look good, feel good and although it’s pocket friendly, it isn’t fashionable. A leather jacket is a wardrobe classic, spending the money today will pay off tomorrow. You will most likely have it for years and years to come, that is, of course if you don’t lose yours like I did, now here I am in the market again!

Good luck leather lovers!

Ladies,

I know spending $600-$800 dollars on a bag doesn’t sound very resourceful BUT believe it or not it is. I used to buy cheap bags and they wear and tear after a month of use then your off spending time finding another cheap bag. The money adds up and so does your time.

I saved a couple bucks and took myself to Louis Vuitton and walked out with the beautiful Neverfull Damier Canvas LV hand bag. I spent about $750 on it but the compliments don’t stop rolling in and after months of use I could care less about another bag.

The holidays are right around the corner add this special bag to the list.
